St. Patron

Schärdinger St. Patron is made in Voitsberg, Styria. Recipes for producing this aromatic cheese speciality with an edible natural rind have been passed on for generations. For six weeks St. Patron is cured with a red culture twice a week. This results in the delicately aromatic taste and the velvety yet firm texture. Then the cheese ripens in a specially designed maturing cellar, where it obtains its characteristic, milk mould covered white surface. St. Patron is optimally suited as a dessert cheese in combination with white bread, figs, dates, grapes or pears. St. Patron is available from approx. 3.2 kg or 1.2 kg blocks from the delicatessen counter.
